The MuslimMoon was conceptualized one chilly Canadian evening in 2017, when my 3-year old daughter returned home from school bouncing around with joy as the festivities of the holiday season were around the corner. As any child would, she was fascinated by all the colorful lights and vibrant decorations that adorned her school, our neighbourhood, the malls and stores. The holiday spirit was in the air. What fun!

Having spent my formative years in the Middle East, it was easy being “Muslim” in a Muslim part of the world. However, it dawned on me, that it may not be the same for my child growing up in a western culture.
